My first Marathon

hehehe. I did it. I ran the Marine Corps. It was exciting...and painful. When's the next one?

Congratulations. I am jealous. I want to get back into running but it is just so hard to start by yourself.

How fantastic!
You go girl.
I would be way too intimidated to run with a bunch of Marines. Good grief. You have guts. They scare me when they shout. :-)
I had to give up running about 5 years ago when my knees succumbed to osteoarthritis. However I am able to keep exercising -- 3.2 miles of walking per day, and when I can squeeze it in also weight lifting and yoga. As we get older, it's so important to keep the exercise going, both to stay young in mind and in body.
I'm inspired by your achievement! Great job!!!

Angie - Oh my gosh it was so hard! I'm not going to lie, but it was pretty euphoric too. I tried to do it for two years before, this was the year. :) And thanks for the birthday wishes. I'm a terrible friend, I don't remember when yours and Mike's bdays are!! ?? Can you believe how old we are getting? hehehe

Heidi - The Marines were awesome. They cheer you on the entire way (they're so young too, sheesh!) that's a bummer about your knees!! I'm glad you stay active anyway. Exercise and socializing is the only way I combat stress. I love yoga! I'm totally with you on the aging thing. i want to be able to chase my grandbabies around one day :)

Wow, congrats! I am jealous, but at the same time I am not jealous of all the training you went through to prepare you for that. I used to run a few years back to and did some races, and I hated the training, but loved the races (not that I was ever very fast, but it was a great feeling to be a part of this huge pack). But yeah, I am really jealous of your experience! Congrats, congrats, congrats!
