Will the force be with me?

Gabriel whipped, beat and corralled me into sewing an Anakin Skywalker costume for Halloween. Oh, and he demanded a Yoda costume for Asher. So, t-minus 4 days...and counting...I need to produce not one, but TWO costumes. Don't worry I've started.

Today, I bought the sewing machine.

Anyone wanna take bets on the final product?

May the force be with me, and may Gabe have mercy on my soul...

HAH! I BOUGHT the Obi-Wan version which doesn't look too natty, but it IS dark during trick-or-treat time, yes??

I am screwed. The damn thing won't work. I fear I may have to let my son down. DAMN! I really feel badly about this...Where is my domestic bone?

Can't you just buy Asher a green sweatsuit and tell Gabe that's what Yoda looked like before he was 700?

PS: Was it the spinning thread thing that did you in? You need to be a rocket scientist to figure that part out!!

No. The needle thread keeps getting stuck in the underpart, what the hell is is called? The bobbin part? ARRRRRGGH. I wasted my entire DAY on that piece of....

Oh, okay, you are probably threading it incorrectly. Try flipping the bobbin the other way (upside down). Seriously. And pull the thread through further.

I made curtains once. It only took me several weeks. And cost hundreds of dollars in material. But I'm rooting for ya. Go, Monique! ;-)

It's not getting caught in the actual bobbin, but the rest of the metal that the bobbin is attached too. I followed the instructions to a T but I'll give your idea a try. Tomorrow if my friend can't help me I'm taking it back. I'm so FRUSTRATED

Hmm, sorry to hear that. If you need advice, ask Pam, she is the QUEEN of sewing. Her kids used to spend the night at my house in pajamas that had cute little "Sewn by mom" tags inside them.

A few years ago, I had the bright idea of making a memory quilt for my mother's birthday (Dec. 22), never having touched a sewing machine in my life!!! It took me a while and I made a lot of mistakes, but that only made the quilt more precious to my mother. You can do it! The costumes may not be perfect, but Gabe and Asher won't know or care! And they'll think you're the greatest and most talented MOM EVER!!! GOOD LUCK!

Marie, that comment about Pam just cracked me up! I miss her! She sewed a new cover for my old gliding rocker that Terry bought for me when I had Gabey...oh my PA memories. I miss you :( Come see me so our children can be BFF's again...and go ahead and bring Mike and his remote control. :)xoxox
